Hello, New Friend

I am so glad you are here. I know that whatever has led you to this page has already been long and hard, and I want you to know I am so proud of your decision to reach out for support.

This is the first step, and a very important one, on your journey towards full and complete recovery. I know this time is difficult for you and your loved ones, because I was once in the same place. Please know our team is here to help guide you through this process and help in whatever ways we possibly can.

The Charis House is a welcoming, safe, peaceful, and stable environment where we treat clinically diagnosed anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and EDNOS, along with all their subsets and co-occurring disorders. Our team is likely the most loving you will ever meet. It’s a beautiful place to begin healing.

You may feel that things are hopeless at this point; I know I did. But I want you to know that there is so much hope, no matter where you are or what you’ve experienced. Full recovery is possible, and we would be honored to be a part of your journey to that end.

During this admissions process, you’ll meet Mikenzi, our Director of Admissions, who will walk you through each step. I can promise you that even without her having yet met you, she already cares so much for you, has so much respect for you in your struggle, and is praying for you. You are in good hands.

So take a deep breath; you’re going to be okay. Let’s walk this road together. Go ahead and pick up the phone or complete the intake form. Mikenzi will be in touch soon. We can’t wait to meet you!

Admissions Process

Step 1: Initial Screening

We value your story and want to know more about the road that brought you to Charis Eating Disorder Care.

If you aren’t ready to do this on your own just yet, we are happy to work with a family member or loved one. In this initial screening, we want to tell you more about our program, answer your questions, and guide you through the process. We want to ensure that we are the best fit for you and your current needs. Call us at your convenience at (904) 789-HOPE, or fill out the screening form below so that we can check your insurance benefits, if applicable, and/or we can schedule a time to talk with you.

Step 2: Finances

We know that financial circumstances weigh heavily over families when seeking treatment. We do accept insurance, but we don’t want that to be the only determining factor as to whether or not you receive the treatment you deserve. Our team is committed to work with you in determining cash payment discounts, and/or providing steps for the application of scholarship funds.

We’ll explain all anticipated costs and other associated expenses and answer any questions you have in this area. Our goal is to make treatment as accessible as we possibly can for everyone in need.

If you do not have insurance and are in need of help, please consider applying for a scholarship. Our scholarship awards typically range between 30-80%. For more scholarship information, click below.

Step 4: Admissions Determination

Upon completion of the assessments, the information will be reviewed by our Clinical Director and other key members of our treatment team who will make a recommendation for the appropriate level of care for you. Mikenzi, our Director of Admissions, will email the recommendation. If it has been determined that next steps include admitting for treatment at The Charis House, she will extend an offer of admission and set a date of admission appointment.

Step 3: Assessment

The assessment step is multi-faceted and may involve your outpatient team in addition to a self-reported assessment.

Your safety is our number one priority. Please download our Pre-Admission Medical Assessment form and Release of Information form. This helps us determine your medical stability prior to admission at Bring Your Brokenness. The medical assessment must be completed by your provider(s) within ten calendar days of your date of admission. Please sign the Release of Information (ROI), add your current outpatient providers and their contact information, and reutr to us so that we can request the appropriate records.

We understand that every person has a unique story and treatment needs. The assessment with our intake specialist allows us opportunity to learn more about you and the impact the eating disorder has had upon your life so that we can begin to put together your individualized treatment plan, specific to your unique needs. This evaluative assessment is done via phone. Please allow 30-60 minutes when you will be uninterrupted and have access to your current medications, providers (PCP, therapist, RD), and their contact information during this time.

The Charis House is an accredited program through CARF International.
