For the Supporter

“I wish there was a way [for those with eating disorders] to raise a red flag. Sometimes we don’t know what you need, but we want to help.”

It is often hard to understand those with eating disorders as there is a stigma that eating disorders are simply about body image. Learning more about these disorders will allow you to support your loved one or friend more effectively.

Resources

Education is key to supporting your loved one throughout their recovery. Below are a few resources we recommend.

Dear Supporter,

Thank you.

If it weren’t for the friends and family in my life who took on the role of supporter while I walked through recovery, I would not have made it. The role you play is vital in your loved one’s life. Let us support you.

Restored Health.

“I had someone very close to me go through the program at Charis House recently. She had been through another program previously with little results. What she achieved through Charis House is nothing short of amazing. Her health has been restored due to God's grace and the dedication and caring of everyone at Charis House; she is a different person, physically, mentally, and emotionally, than she was just a few months ago.” - Supporter

Welcomed and Loved Here.

“I encourage anyone in eating disorder recovery or anyone who has a heart for those in recovery to become part of this amazing ministry. The founder of BYB, Amie Shields, radiates with compassion and passion for those struggling with an eating disorder in every support group, Retreat, in all areas of the ministry. BYB gives those struggling spiritual nourishment and supplies truths why physical nourishment is vital. You don’t need to be perfect just come as you are and you will be welcomed and loved here.” - Past Patient
